HONG KONG, DAY TWO!
Well, if you know John then this should come as no surprise—he met yet another business associate from years past for yet another traditional Hong Kong breakfast!
I was charged to walk across the street to the mall to look for a new shirt or two for John as he opted to bring a sports jacket in lieu of enough shirts for the trip. 🙄
Upon arrival to the mall, lo and behold, all the stores were still closed until 11:00AM! And look what was open! (Was I lucky or what?)
By the time my coffee was finished John had arrived! We both looked through Marks & Spencer at men’s shirts, to no avail. We were set up to meet Somsak and Salinee for a steak dinner in Kowloon (they were in Hong Kong for a visit), so we decided to take the Star Ferry across the water back to Hong Kong for the day!
Instead, we found a delightful plaza area in the middle of all the prison buildings and opted to have sushi for lunch! And a beer—after all the steps we climbed, we deserved an ice cold brewski!
Later, back at the room, we put our feet up for a bit before getting ready for dinner. Oh, and I forgot to mention that our Indiana home’s heat went out during the subzero temps. Oh FUN! Jas (bless his heart) had been meeting with the heating and cooling people to figure that all out while Jon (bless his heart) had been taking good care of our girl, Shallie, and managing all her meds for a collapsed trachea! (What would we do without these two?)
John made a quick run to drop off a bag of dirty clothes to a Chinese Laundry down a block from our hotel!
Since we’d already taken the train to Hong Kong yesterday, and then the ferry to Hong Kong that morning, we opted to take a Grab to Hong Kong for dinner!
After dinner we bid our fond farewells and John and I headed straight to the center of Lang Kwai Fong. It was still early by HK standards (9:30PM—NOT by my standards) but it was fun to watch all the people strolling past all the bars and listening to John’s stories of nights spent here with customers!
It was another great day in Kowloon and Hong Kong (then Kowloon then Hong Kong then Kowloon)! It was overcast however, we only felt about four rain drops the entire day! We called that a WIN and hoped for the same tomorrow!

Geez! What a day!!! It’s time for another massage!
