FIRST DAY AT SEA!

The Regent Explorer is a relatively small boat, with 746 guests on board.  Which meant we felt every single wave last night, which meant we slept like a babies!  (At least Michelle and I did!)  Would you believe John and I woke up when our coffee was delivered at 7:15AM!  Ahhhhhh!

John ate breakfast and watched the news while I went to a yoga class!  We had the entire day to relax and recharge after two weeks of traveling, touring and walking!  And did it ever feel good!  We chilled up in The Library and got caught up on the news.

Later, we met up with Dave and Michelle for lunch poolside!  Here’s proof that they actually exist!

John requested some bourbon for the room.  He was expecting tiny airplane bottles and this is what was waiting for him!  Picture him with a look of disbelief and a huge smile!

We couldn’t stay for the entire Tawain Port Talk (we’ll be docked there tomorrow),

because we had signed up for the Wok ‘n Roll cooking class!  It was SOMUCHFUN and so well done!

We made Duck and Pomela Rolls (that were DELISH),

individual Soaked Ginger Cakes, (AMAZING!)

and Jumbo Shrimp Pad Thai! (INCREDIBLE!)

The Ginger Soaked Cake was topped with homemade Cardamom Ice Cream.  (We didn’t make it but the machine was churning away while we were all cooking away!)

The entire meal was sooooo good!  And guess what?  We had dinner reservations exactly two and a half hours later! 😳😳😳

We all enjoyed a cocktail before heading to Chartreuse, a French specialty restaurant.  I oh so wanted to be hungry for this.  John somehow mustered enough stomach space for an appetizer, main and this amazing dessert.

I opted for the BEST foi gras ever made and a bowl of soup.  Everything was delicious, the wait staff was delightful, and they thought it was our anniversary!  So out they came with a huge piece of chocolate cake (which we graciously sent back) all ready to celebrate with us!

The after dinner show was a classical pianist, Panos Karan.

He was funny, charming and oh, could that man play!  After the show, we called an early night in preparation for an early tour in the morning.  Back in the room we were treated to yet another attempt to celebrate our anniversary!

Nice try, Regent Seven Seas!  (We sure hoped that there wasn’t a couple out there celebrating their anniversary that got NOTHING!)
