The sun greeted us this morning and it was delightful! We landed at the Keelong Port in Taipei, Tawain and got to have breakfast at an outside table onboard, smack dab in the middle of a sunbeam. It was WONDERFUL!
The four of us signed up for the “Highlights of Taipei” tour, met our guide, and boarded our bus. First stop was Chiang Kai-Shek Memorial Hall.

The second stop was the last stop—WAIT A SEC—there were only TWO Taipei highlights? It was none other than the National Palace Museum. Once there, we ditched our guide (can you spell I N T E N S E?) and did a self guided tour. And again, I TRIED SO HARD to channel Chloe….
On the way back to the boat, our tour guide told us that Taipei’s tourism industry is extremely weak. I immediately thought to myself, “If the two stops we made today are the highlights of Taipei, no wonder tourism is lacking!” (I do realize that the majority of the people on our tour LOVED the museum. I tried, but simply was not one of them! Sorry, Chloe!)
The day had been overcast (with not a drop of rain), but when we got back to the boat the sun was shining! John took full advantage of that sunshine and got all dressed up in his beach attire to lay by the pool. (Blogger has a mind of its’ own tonight and has decided that this paragraph should be centered. 🙄)
He was determined to have pool time on this cruise, darn it! It lasted about 15 minutes until dark clouds moved in, the wind started blowing, and we had to head back inside! (But he gave it the old college try!)
Later that evening we joined Dave and Michelle for drinks at our favorite bar with our favorite bartenders, John and Alvi. (They are the BEST!) John (the bartender) pulled up Amazon and showed John (my husband) what shaker he needs to purchase! (Ours at home apparently was lacking!) It was put in his cart and will be purchased for delivery when we return to the states! (Oh, Amazon, you are truly amazing!)
The show Divos and Divas was postponed due to one of the singers being sick. Hopefully, we’ll be able to see that show tomorrow! Instead, we saw the comedian, Happy Human, again for his second show.
And that was it, folks! It was well past 10:00 when the show ended (and John and I are wimps)! One of these nights we hope to enjoy some of the nightlife onboard! Until then—GOOD NIGHT!!!
