HONG KONG, DAY THREE!

We woke up to another bonus day in Hong Kong, weather-wise!  Although, luckily, rain was out of the forecast for the day, we carried our umbrellas just in case!  We walked by this restaurant and John decided this was the place for today’s gourmet breakfast!

OMGoodness, will you look at the mouth-watering pastry’s that were being offered!  I couldn’t believe it when John opted for toast,

and it came out exactly how August likes it, buttered with no crust!

John chose well, as the restaurant was jam packed with hungry (and happy) patrons!

John was one of those hungry (and happy) patrons!

Last night at dinner, Salinee told us that the Palace Museum was a must see.  We decided to give it a try and began our morning walk in its’ direction!  We passed by AMAZING flowers,

lots of FRESH vegetables,

and beautiful architecture!

We opted to jump on a bus for the final leg of our journey and arrived safely and soundly to Hong Kong’s infamous Palace Museum. (Will you look at that!)

I channeled Chloe as we browsed all the Chinese artifacts. (😁)  We purchased the audio tour, however, we were halfway through the exhibits by the time we figured out how it synced with the displays!  (I felt like we were back in Pompei—very confused!)

There was a hands on exhibit where you could try writing in Chinese.  John gave it a go,

however, my attempt clearly won!

This artwork was projected on the ceiling while there was a place to lay down side by side in a circle for viewing purposes. Loved all the colorful images!

I chose my next Kindle book!

After we were finished with the tour of the Museum (We enjoyed it however, A LOT was lost in translation!) we proceeded to walk back to the train station, where we saw the most adorable little Chinese girl, safely belted onto her Mom’s luggage!  We seriously need to find this contraption for Jonah!

Have I mentioned how impeccably clean the train station was?

And how CRAZY busy it was?

A vast majority of Chinese people walk while looking at their cell phones, making it VERY INTERESTING getting through the crowds! We somehow made it to a nearby restaurant for a very late lunch and brewski.  Both were DELICIOUS!

Much later, it was time to make plans for dinner!  (I know! I know!  It seems like all we do is go from one restaurant to another!  But, in our defense, there are miles and miles of walking in between!)

It’s like playing a game of DUCK DUCK GOOSE here in Kowloon, but when searching for a restaurant that served Peking Duck for dinner (to celebrate our very last evening here), it became a game of GOOSE, GOOSE, GOOSE!  Everywhere we looked, goose was on the menu and that was NOT what we wanted!

Finally, John Googled, “Peking Duck Near Me” and a restaurant called Hutong popped up!  The description said it overlooked Victoria Harbor and was within walking distance of our hotel!  But when we tried to make a booking, no tables were available until 9:45 (😳).  We decided to chance it and found the restaurant on the eighteenth floor.  It looked AMAZING and had gorgeous views of Kong Kong’s skyline.

And, would you believe, they had an available table for two!  They had dim sum on the menu (John’ was a very Happy Camper), Peking Duck on the menu, and views to die for!

It was certainly a memorable last night in Hong Kong!

We watched a ship leaving the port and cruising down the harbor—that will be us tomorrow after we board the Regent Explorer (and meet up with Dave and Michelle).  We are set to sail at 9:00PM sharp!

Oh Hong Kong, we ❤️❤️❤️❤️ you and will miss you!
